None of our Aussie Notables crossed the Nullarbor Plain, as I did recently, though a few of them sailed across the Great Australian Bight. We did 3600 km in about 36 hours of driving. Explorers like Eyre and Forrest travelled a little more slowly! How tough were those guys? The closest we saw to them were four lone, intrepid bike riders who must be about as hardy as they make us these days. I would like to know how long they took and how they dealt with driving rain and wet gear, as on Day Three.
